Annual Update 2026

This course is designed for nurses, healthcare providers and lactation consultants who provide care and provisions of care for women, lactating individuals and infants. Evidence is ever evolving and crucial for professional development and promotion of best practice. Julie Grimes will provide a critical review of 2025 research and summarize literature of peer-reviewed studies that are specific to clinical lactation support. By the end of this course the learner will be able to list at least 2 changes to the ABM protocol #7, explain how family integrated care benefits NICU infants, describe how commercial interests influence the three key systems of healthcare, and identify 3 hospital practices that facilitate breastfeeding.
